About the Event

Join us at Egg on October 24th for a Food Issues Group fall relaunch, complete with a screening of the film LIBRE by filmmaker Anna Barsan, food from Kreung, Gaucho Pazos, Egg, and The Pixie and the Scout; and a discussion about mobilizing our food industry to fight against the persecution of asylum-seekers & migrants. We will strategize around specific and concrete actions, projects, and forms of resistance for food folks in particular. The NY Immigrant Freedom Fund will also be present and contributing to this conversation. This event is BYOB!

Please especially invite co-workers/employees/colleagues whose lived experience as immigrants in this industry will enrich and guide our strategizing. It will be completely accessible to Spanish speakers! As a step towards prioritizing and practicing language justice, Colectivo Babilla (or Babilla Collective) will be co-moderating this gathering with us! They support groups in decolonizing and recognizing multiplicity through interpreting, translating, facilitating workshops and developing curriculum.

Please donate what you can to cover the costs of the gathering! $10, $20...$50...more!

Anything we collect beyond our costs will be donated to NY Immigrant Freedom Fund so please be generous!
